Hi - I have a company that specializes in B&B's and small inns. This is a free service. There are alot of lovely inns in Bar Harbor. Some suggestions would be the Breakwater-1904, The Inn at Bay Ledge, Primrose Inn or Manor House Inn. If you would like more information or assistance, please let me know. Sincerely, Karen, Uncommon Accommodations

It depends what you are looking for. There are many B&Bs that offer quaint rooms and there are some larger hotels that offer more facilities. We like to stay at the Blue Nose Inn because it has a nice indoor pool facility (rare on the island) and nice oceanview rooms. The Cleftstone Manor right next to it is a lovely B&B. The Bay Ledge is very nice if you want an out of the way romantic place to stay (but it is expensive). We stayed their on our honeymoon. It only has something like 8 rooms so it is quiet with a friendly casual atmosphere and beautiful views from the rooms.

My husband and I stayed at the Manor House Inn July 1997. It is a beautiful B&B that has wonderful breakfasts and extremely helpful innkeepers. Our innkeeper planned a whole day for us complete with restaurant reservations (Maggie's Classic Scales is a treat) I stopped in the Ukalaine(sp?) B&B and it looked wonderful, also. Both of these B&B's have fantastic locations.

Hi- Love New England, esp. NH & ME! We stayed in Bar Harbor last summer, at the Bar Harbor Motel 100 Eden St. 1800-388-3453. It is a gathering of about 10 buildingd, each w/ abt. 3-4 sisde by side units. Very clean, family run by lovely, helpful people. Reasonable- -2queen beds, $108. We stayedin the building farthest back which backed up to the woods & each day we had a chipmunk visitor who came right into the room to eat the peanuts & cookie crumbs we gave him- we got some great pictures. Very convenient to Acadia- beautiful hiking & mountain biking- you can rent bikes. Charming town with great combo of nature- you need to get off the Cadillac Mtn. Rd. & hike- away from crowds- beautiful & secluded. Town is fun at night- check out "Cool as a Moose". Went whale watching- great fried clams!! Have a wonderful time! Actually loved it so much, had stayed a week there, then went wto a wilderness camp in the Moosehead Lake Area- later decided to extend our vacation & returned to BarHarbor Motel for a few more days before heading home!

I am also going to Mt. Desert Island over the Memorial Day weekend with a group of 5 Senior Girl Scouts (high school age) and another adult. We are looking for a house to rent, or accommodations that would not mind a small group of students. Can you help me?

we went to bar harbor last year in may; it was wonderful. we did not take a bed in breakfast in bar harbor but chose instead the blue nose inn in bar harbor it is near the town and cadillac mountain. Do go to either the sunrise or sunset on cadillac mt. it is well worth it. bring a jacket and a camera! Take the whale watching tour if possisble ; it happened to be too foggy when we were there. Go to the bass harbor light house and go down the stairs to the rocky area view of the light. It is well worth it . we can e-mail you pictures of our trip if u like .

I found house rentals on the web at www.acadia.net and palermo.org/acadiainfo. You might also try www.harborridge.com and a realtor by e-mail at [email protected]. Good luck.
