Banff to Glacier

I am looking for suggestions on a trip from Banff to Glacier, ending up near the Kalispell airport. Suggestions on points of interest and lodging?

Mentioning how much time you have, and time of year, would help with recommendations, but make sure that you spend some time in Waterton Lakes National Park (Canada), adjacent to Glacier. To me, it's like a mini-Banff, that the crowds haven't discovered yet.
You could also stop at "Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site" (seriously), on the way south of Calgary. Make sure that you take the boat cruise around Waterton Lake also, its very scenic.
Glacier itself has a lot of high points (ooh, bad pun), that are fairly well-known, so pick things that most match your interests.

That info is in her other post.

I agree that you should stop at Head Smashed and see its little museum. It is fascinating. New ideas presented very attractively.

Last time I was in Banff it looked like Tokyo, complete with schoolgirls in micro skirts. Now that the Chinese have all the money, perhaps it's like Shanghai. The hotel is a treat, but the rest of the town left me cold. I wouldn't go back.

Lake Louise is a different story, quite marvelous, and the parkway to Jasper through the ice fields is fantastic. But I greet that Waterton is lovely. We saw a grizzly tearing up the waterside from the safety of our boat. Many deer-elk-whatever and a prairie dog village in the middle of town.

I don't think you can easily rent a car in one country and easily leave it in the other, but I could be wrong. Still, I would start with the assumption that you can't do Banff-Kallispell without making a loop back to where you rented the car.
