I don't know who gets married in Bakersfield.
The only 4 star I saw for less than $100 is the Holiday Inn North. http://trip.amtrak.com/hotels/208059...ken=OC42#rooms
The last San Joaquin out of town on Saturday leaves at 6:20 PM.

What is the deal with the Amtrak post? Does the OP not have a way to get to Bakersfield?

There is a very nice Marriott near the convention center and there is a Best Western near the Crystal Palace

Check with whomever is hosting the wedding as to accommodations close to the wedding/reception venue. You will want to stay in a nice, yet convenient location.

"I don't know who gets married in Bakersfield."

Oh, just maybe someone who lives in Bakersfield . . . jeeze . .

And I don't see any questions about how to get there (or from where) so how does Amtrak make sense?.

(Tom - for future reference, Holiday Inns are not 4 star)

kbarshay: I agree w/ suzie about the Marriott. But what is your budget? And where is the wedding/reception . . . could make a difference re where to stay.

Didn't see MichelleY's Post (hi MichelleY ) . . . Yes, do check w/ the family, not only for location, but also because they may have negotiated special rates at a specific hotel.

I agree w/ suzie about the Marriott.

If you're 62 or older, check Marriott's senior rate. It is often quite a bit better than the AAA rate.
