Bahia Honda State Park Cheap Accomodations?

Looking for inexpensive lodging within 15 miles of Bahia Honda State Park. I am looking for something that has 2 different sleeping quarters... like a cabin or suite. Going with son and his wife while husband and other 2 kids are at Seabase. We are on a tight budget. Already have reservations in Key West but the more I thought about it would rather stay outside of KW and closer to the Snorkeling spots that don't require a boat to get there. Thanks in advance.

Slim pickings in that area. Parmer's Place is nice, but out of your price range. You're either going to have to go to Key West, or back to Marathon.

I second bookhall's recommendation of Palmer's. We stayed there for a week and it is very nice. It also has a lot of different room/cottage layouts that would work for an extended family.
There is Sunset Key Resort just north on Bahia Honda but we have only camped there I am not sure if they have rentals. You can also look for places on Big Pine Key which is just south of Bahia Honda.
Bahia Honda has cabins in the park that you can rent, but they are hard to get. It is worth a try though in case someone has canceled a reservation.

As noted above Bahia Honda has a few cabins. I believe there are four of them and that they are double so it would be a total of eight units.

There are a number of locations for camping - some are right be the water.

Thx for your replies! Ended up not saving any money like I wanted to.... But I think we made an excellent choice at the Big PIne Key Fishing Lodge... got their last mobile home rental for that time!

We have stayed at Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge once while we were waiting to get into Bahia Honda State Park. It was nice, but we had our own camper. Key Deer were plentiful.

Enjoy your trip.
