Bad experience using Airbnb.com
I am a host people through Airbnb.com and I had bad experience with guests who came through airbnb.com. They provide very bad customer service to hosts as well as guests.
Many guests have an attitude as they own the room or house once they reserve through airbnb. This is a fault of Airbnb causing misunderstanding to guests. There are lot of websites like airbnb.com popping up (eg.Onefinestay.com and many others) and they take care of the Hosts better than Airbnb.com.
So I dont recommend using airbnb as a guest or host.

Not sure where you are from but it is possible there was some cultural misunderstanding about the role of host and guest? Was your listing completely clear on what you were offering? Perhaps it seemed to include use of the entire apartment, rather than just a single room?

DCDude has written a grand total of three posts -- all of them bashing AirBnB. His own words after he bashes that company speaks volumes:
"There are lot of websites like airbnb.com popping up (eg.Onefinestay.com and many others) and they take care of the Hosts better than Airbnb.com."
I would not be surprised if he was simply a shill for a competitor to AirBnB -- undeniably, he is NOT a traveler looking to share his wisdom and experiences.

As a renter I have also had a terrible experience with airbnb.
They have no customer service for one thing. Craigslist is a better option. I was scammed on their website for over $1,000 by one of their "hosts". They are sorry, but failed to reply to my customer service requests, then claimed ignorance of the fact that this host was a scammer. I have rented often via VRBO and although the properties are not always exactly as expected, at least they exist! Sorry for anyone taken in by airbnb, avoid like the plague!

I would not be surprised if he was simply a shill for a competitor to AirBnB. Undeniably, he is NOT a traveler looking to share his wisdom and experiences on this site.
It is also VERY revealing that I was able to re-post my findings about Raeger, almost word for word, from what I found about DCDude. I would not be surprised to find that DCDude has simply changed his ID and continues to bash AirBnB in order to build up business for one of their competitors.
