Backpacking Across The USA...

Has anyone ever wanted to travle the whole USA,..
To get out of their own state, and see whatelse
May be around the corner..in June this is what I
plan to do after graduation from High School..see
what's around that corner, and i'm curious to know
if anyone else had ever wanted to do that, or already has..maybe someone has some hints to how
I could get started..I'm also tying this in a research paper, so any help would be great..Thanks.
