Bachelorette Weekend in NYC: Best Hotel (with rooftop bar?) and Clubs?
I'm planning my bachelorette for March in NYC. I have been there before many times but I would love to know of great hotels with rooftop bars possibly where we can stay and that aren't ridiculously expensive. Also, which area should we stay in to be close to the nightlife action? I love how Midtown is close to shops but not crazy like times square. I DEFINITELY do not want to stay in times square. I want a cool neighborhood in the daytime like Greenwich Village where we can walk around to cool cafes and do sight stuff but at the same time I don't want to be too far from cool nightlife bars/clubs. Finally, any recommendations on fun clubs that won't be too hard to get into on a weekend? So any tips would be awesome!

Well as hotels have scales from $$$$-$ I would say not ridiculously expensive is around the $$-$$$. So for about 8 girls to split one big suite or 2 rooms the budget is about 200-400/ night or 800 for a big suite

We just stayed at The Refinery Hotel, off 6th Ave at 38th St. It had very cool rooms, a roof top bar which I didn't visit but seemed busy over the weekend. Nice young and hip looking clientele in the lobby and lobby bar.
I don't know if that would meet your criteria for good neighborhood to walk around and shop, but the train at Bryant Park/Times Square took about 5 minutes to walk to.
I recommend it more on room size, service, and good prices.

Oh, I see it's March. Why do you want a rooftop bar? It's going to still be cold then. If you want views, you could book a hotel rm with views, orgo to top of the rock for views, and then go to any nice bar you want to go to.

Many of the rooftop bars will be closed in March - due to the cold - it;s still winter. During the day you may get highs of 50 or 35.
Not clear about your hotel budget. If you want 2 rooms of 4 people each (in 2 double beds) then you are looking at probably $300 per room for a decent room. To get them for $200 each you will need to do a lot of shopping on the discount sites - and they will not be the type of places with rooftop bars (those will be more 4* hotels - not 2.5 or 3*). Affinia hotels have a lot of suite configurations, but not sure what they have for 8 people - you should look at those right away. But they are primarily midtown.
If you want trendy and lots of clubs you want more downtown - Chelsea, SoHo, East Village etc. I can;t reco clubs - not my age group - but if you look at Timeout NY website it will list all clubs, what types of music they have - and which are easy to get into. (The truly trendy ones you see mentioned in the tabloids and on TV gossip shows are VERY expensive and very difficult to get into. When my DDs were living in the city and going to clubs they reported that you needed to be very attractive - close to model looks - and very trendily dressed - the doorkeeper judge you on everything.
