Babymoon Honolulu Aug 2015
Wife and I are planning to take a trip to Honolulu towards the end of August. I wanted to see if there were any folks that have had experience going to Hawaii for a Baby-moon.
Any recommendations on resorts (mix of mellow and upbeat), places to eat, and some historic sight seeing.
I know this might be very vague, but I just want to get an understanding of where we should start our research.
Aug 22- 28
Thank you all in advance

You should definitely check out Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head. Sunsets in Oahu are iconic--be sure to catch it off the Waikiki beach. Or for a real treat, try a sunset sail. You can easily find charter companies lined up along Waikiki beach. If you like art, I would recommend the Honolulu Museum of Art. It's a little far from the main stretch of hotels, so take a taxi there. Although small, the museum has some gems like works by Picasso and Monet.

No experience with a babymoon but -
We never miss an evening at House Without a Key at the Halekulani hotel http://www.halekulani.com/dining/house-without-a-key old style Hawaiian music and hula nightly on an oceanfront setting. Their coconut cake is to die for.
Alan Wong http://www.alanwongs.com/alan-wong's-honolulu is an excellent upscale restaurant, reserve early.
Town http://townkaimuki.com/ is casual farm to table style that's very good.
One of our favorites is The Pig & The Lady http://thepigandthelady.com/farmers-market-menus/ which sets up at various farmer's markets. They also have a brick and mortar restaurant.
For historic sightseeing aside from what's already been mentioned, there's Iolani Palace and the Bishop Museum.
Hope that gets you started.

If you are planning on going to Arizona memorial, I would suggest that you reserve your tickets online right now for a day in August. The tickets can run out daily, but if you reserved them then you don't have to worry about it! If you don't deserve them online, you will have to line up at around 6:30am to ensure that you can get tickets. The gates open at 7am and the first tour starts at 7:30am. There are no bags allowed in and this is why people sometimes choose to go on a tour. There are other attractions including the bowfin submarine, battleship Missouri, and the pacific aviation museum. All are great attractions, but are an additional cost. Definitely get the audio headset because it is worth it since no tour guides go out with you onto the Arizona. Another great historic place to check out is the Iolani palace. Great Hawaiian history there and a wonderful story to go behind it. If you get a chance, Pali lookout is a great option as well.

I apologize that I have been MIA for several weeks. I appreciate everyone's input. Change of plans here. We are going to West Maui Aug 22-28.
We will have a car. We are looking for places to eat, sightsee and just anything random.
Thanks in advance everyone!

OK, Star Noodle in Lahaina is very good, moderately priced. We sat at the bar so we could converse with fellow diners and the bartender. Went twice on the same trip. The owner was on one of the chef programs - maybe Top Chef? Fun.
Lahaina Grill is pricey but the food is great.
