AZ to UT

My son and his family are moving to Cedar City, UT from Mesa, AZ and we are trying to find the least mountainous roads for them to travel. Any ideas?

US60 then US93 through Kingman to Las Vegas then north on I-15 to Cedar City. The only portion of that route evenly remotely mountainous is the 20 mile stretch through the Virgin River Gorge and that is a piece of cake. It's all freeway with easy curves and mild grades.

I should have also mentioned the primary alternative. That would be I-17 north to US 89 then north to Kanab, UT. From there, Utah/Arizona routes 389 and U-59 to Hurricane, UT. then north on U-17 to I-15 then north to Cedar City.

For people who don't enjoy mountain driving, that route would be a little more stressful (but very little more). It would be more scenic than my first suggested route but would be about 20 miles longer.

Thank you for your response; I'll pass the info on to him! Do either of these take them over the Hoover Dam, because with the moving truck towing their car, they're trying to avoid roads such as that.

Yes, US-93 will. To avoid that, at Kingman, AZ, head toward Laughlin then out to US-95 and north to Las Vegas.
