Avis or Budget from LAX

Arriving in LAX at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. We keep rebooking our rental car as prices fluctuate but looks like we'll either be with Avis or Budget. Is one of those better about getting you in and out quickly? I've joined Avis Preferred and Budget Fastbreak. Thanks!!

Sometimes I feel like it's the luck of the draw, if you get good service from a rental car company or not. I recently rented a vehicle at LAX through Enterprise, which has always been an outstanding company for us. Budget was really wonky at SFO. Haven't tried Avis lately.

If you're shopping around, try CostcoTravel.com. They have really good rates. But my last rental I got the best price through Southwest airlines. It pays to look around.

MoBro, YES we're reserving through Costco! Love it!

We definitely decided to go with the majors once I researched some of the discounts ones. Ack.

When we rented at Denver years ago it was awesome to just go to the row of minivans, pick the one we wanted and be on our way. Totally skipped the counter. I guess I'm holding out hope Budget or Avis would be similar at LAX. We had a 2 hr line at SFO last year so we're traumatized. haha!

Enterprise last week let me go into the lot and choose my car, with their agent who was very helpful.
Another reason I like Enterprise the best.

Costcotravel.com is the best. Keep checking it, because prices can actually drop closer to your date.

Be sure NOT to use Fox rental cars in any city! They are notorious for being dishonest in pricing, long lines, bad service.

I've had very good luck with Thrifty and Dollar--subsidiaries of Hertz. Discount codes are sometimes available on retailmenot.com

I'm not a fan of Enterprise because they always try to badger me into buying insurance I don't need or want.
