auto transport from Boston to West Palm
I am considering having my car transported from Boston to West Palm for the winter season. Does anyone have any experience with any of the many businesses listed online? What should I be aware of when looking at options? Any recommendations for specific company?

My brother has done it with success, but, sorry, I don't have any details other than to note that many companies won't deliver the vehicle to certain neighborhoods, such as gated communities. So whichever company you go with, ask about restrictions on deliveries. Also, ask about packing personal items in the vehicle. A lot of people like to do that, instead of lugging the items on a plane or shipping them. Different companies have different rules about that.

I can't recommend a company, either. But I wanted to say that you basically have two options: pay a moving company to put your car on a truck and haul it there, or pay a person to drive it there. If you don't mind adding the miles to your car, the latter will be less expensive. Of course, you would look for a company that provides drivers who are licensed and bonded and insured and all that.

Not specifically what the OP asked about, but my sister has on several occasions used the Auto Train, which takes you and you car from the Washington DC area to Orlando. (Pros: much less expensive than shipping the car and you always have the car with you. Cons: you still have to drive Bos-Wash and Orlando- West Palm.)

One thing I will add here is that there a lot of shippers running the route from the Northeast to the Southeast. It's a popular request, especially this time of year when a lot of snowbird are looking to escape the cold. What that means is that you should be able to find a pretty good rate if you compare some prices.
My advice would be to find 4-5 companies that you like (online, phone book, recommendations, etc.) and give them a call. All of them should give you a free estimate and then you can compare prices and choose the one you like best. I've had good success with A-1 Auto Transport ( https://www.a1autotransport.com/states/MA/boston.php ) in the past and would recommend them, but it's always a good idea to contact some competitors to see how they stack up.
