My husband has a meeting in Austin in late June, I was thinking of tagging along with him - we have 2 children, a 5 yo and a 7 month old. Is it worth it? Are there a lot of things to do with kids? How hot is it going to be then? Appreciate your help.
Tips on family dining?
Thanks

I'd just do a Google search for "Things to Do with Kids in Austin" and you'll get a bunch of hits with suggestions. I think your 5-year-old would enjoy the Austin Childrens' Museum, the bats flying out at night from Congress Avenue Bridge, Zilker Park (with a miniature train ride), and Barton Springs (if you don't mind really cold water). Unfortunately, the Texas Natural Science Center will be temporarily closed from June 20th to October for maintenance, but it's a good place for kids too.
Austin is a laid-back, family-friendly place, so pretty much any restaurant that interests you will be fine for the kids. There's great Tex-Mex and BBQ in Austin.
Finally, temperatures in late June will have lows in the 70's and highs around 90 degrees or so. I consider that pretty hot, but I don't know what you are used to.
agree with longhorn. Family friendly dining would be all but the high end places. I used to always tell if they had high chairs or not.
