Would love thoughts on either of these places. Options at both as visiting town on a Monday, but would like to select the most unique/romantic of the two.
Help? Reviews are all over the map
on TripAdvisor and Yahoo! VERY mixed reviews on TripAd. for L'Auberge, but then, I find newer & more reviews on Yahoo or Expedia...can't remember...and they were quite positive.
Their websites follow if you need an idea of where they are located, etc. Heard noise can be a factor at L'Auberge, but we have to get up early anyway, so not sure if it goes on all night on Main St? (is there that much traffic in Aspen?)

Have you considered the Hotel Jerome? It's the grande dame of historic hotels in Aspen. Very nice.

Daydreamer, when will you be in Aspen? My husband and I have stayed at the Lenado several times in March for skiing and loved the feel of the hotel -very open cathedral ceiling when you walk in, big fireplace with seating in front, hot tub overlooking the mountain. The rooms are nice/romantic as well and the staff is very friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations and reservations. Also, wonderful, cooked to order breakfast each morning. It has everything that we look for in a ski lodging. I've heard that noise could be a problem other times of year (there is bus traffic especially on the street) but it didn't bother us in the winter with the windows closed and it did not go on all night long. The Jerome is also a classic, but it's about twice as much as the Lenado. I am not familiar with L'Auberge, so I can't help you there.
