I am staying in Arlington and will be travelling each day from the Van Dorn metro stop into Washington DC. Was wondering if there is parking there. Also I have never been to the Arlington is there any area to avoid.

You may be a bit confused. The Van Dorn metro stop is not in Arlington, or even near Arlington. It's in Alexandria. There is parking there, yes, though the lot is rather small.
PS -- here's a link to the WMATA site and map (WMATA is the organization that runs Metro). There's good info here on parking and etc. Van Dorn St. is the next-to-last station on the Blue line.

I am sorry i meant to say Alexandria. I was also looking at hotels in Arlington so I had that on my mind. Thanks for the info about parking
Thank You for that link
