Walk about a half mile to the Radisson Hotel on Figueroa Street. (Any police, transit personnel or SC student can direct you, if not half the game-goers.) If you haven't flagged down a cab before you reach the hotel, there will probably be cabs waiting there or one can be called for you. In post-game traffic, it will take 30-45 minutes to get to the airport area.

We'll be sitting in section 18. Give us a wave!

I assume you mean the L.A. County Natural History Museum and Science Center and not the L.A. County Museum of Art which is several miles away... The Natural History Museum has been recently renovated, and you can see the space shuttle at the Science Center. I'm not sure how easy it is to enter the campus while classes are in session. (Tail-gating on campus is not allowed for this game.) Tougher security measures have been instituted in the past year. At a minimum, you'd need to show identification.

Yes, space shuttle in the Science Center. Very cool.

I think you'd probably be able to see the sports hall of fame, student store, etc., but perhaps not Doheny Library (which is gorgeous BTW).

For your purposes, I wouldn't try to hail a cab -- I'd take the Expo line to Culver City and catch a cab from there. Much closer to LAX. Also, the Expo line will drop you off right at both the NHM and the Colleseum.

There is a relatively new exhibit, Becoming L.A. that is worth seeing -- where you can find out the answer to that burning question how "cow poop changed L.A." (The answer will surprise you!). The endeavor is right next door to the NHM. Due to this game, the NHM is recommending taking the Expo line: "This Thursday, October 10, is a USC home game at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. (Fight on, Trojans!) Game time is 7:30 pm, and traffic and parking will be affected throughout the afternoon. As always, we recommend the Expo Line. Show your Metro pass or ticket, and get $1.25 off adult admission. If you are driving, please enter Exposition Park via Vermont and 39th Street and plan on visiting during the morning hours."

See link below for more details on getting to and from the game on Thursday:

This info may be too late, but... There won't be cabs waiting at the Culver City Expo stop, so you'll need a cellphone to call a cab.

We'll be taking the Expo line from the Jefferson/La Cienega station (2nd to last stop at the western end of the line) in a couple of hours! If you have a car, you can park there (free) and ride the Expo line to/from. We've heard that the parking lot at the last, most western station is small and fills early.

As we rode on the Expo line yesterday, I noticed signage for LAX Flyaway bus service from the La Brea station. Googled it today and found this announcement:

But it wouldn't have worked for last night's game. The last departure from Expo/La Brea is 10:00p daily. The full schedule:

I had a great time! After getting checked into the Motel near LAX,I went back to LAX and took the Fly-away to Union Station, then walked over to Phillippe's for the great as always beef dip sandwich for lunch.(Wanted to go over to Farmers Market but decided it would take too long by bus)So I took the #40 to the Coliseum, had about 4 hours to explore the campus, which was very interesting and a lot of fun.It was great to watch the famous USC band warm up in the Track/Field stadium! Passed on the Nat History musuem, that will be next time.Had a crappy brisket sandwich for dinner, forgot about all the better choices from the food trucks! Enjoyed USC's win over the Cats and the band at halftime.Took a cab back,(found one on fairly easy, but $47) Thanks everbody for your help-look foward to next LA trip!
