My husband & I would like to travel to Arizona & New Mexico in March or April of 2001. Can anyone help - we will be able to spend a total of 7 days & would definitely like to see Sedona & the Grand Canyon. Any other suggestions for places to go and or stay? We do enjoy hiking & the outdoors but also like to relax & hang out at any local spots. (We CANNOT sunbathe, however) Thanks!

If you do a New Mexico search, there is a lot of information that might help you.
When you make your trip will depend heavily on where you want to go.
We were in Phoenix in the 3rd week of May and temperatures were already over 100. (I know it is a so-called dry heat, but I was roasting hot anyhow!)
In New Mexico, I like Taos and Santa Fe.
For natural sights, White Sands National Monument in the southern part of the state near Alamogordo is interesting.
In the north, Bandelier NM is a good example of ancient cliff dwellings.
In the corner of Colorado, I have always found Mesa Verde interesting to visit.
Central Colorado has quite a few intersting Indian ruins to visit.
If you are headed for the Grand Canyon, I would make the visit as late in April as possible so that the weather will be a little warmer. Of course, you have to find a place to stay first!! Then decide the time!
Hopefully Al and Elvira will wander on over here from the European forum and give you their first-hand recommendations.
