Will be in Chandler, AZ and only able to take two days to sight see. What would be the best things to see, as day trips? We will have all day Friday and all day Saturday but prefer to do days trips. Would heading to Sedona for a sunset be one idea, then travel the opposite way for the Grand Canyon on another day?

I'm a little confused. Sedona and the Grand Canyon are in the same direction away from Chandler--Sedona is 140 miles north and the Grand Canyon is 110 miles beyond Sedona.
Also, the Grand Canyon is not a day trip from Chandler unless you aren't interested in spending time at the canyon.
In Tucson we like to visit Tucson Mountain Park, the Desert Museum, Mt. Lemmon, and Sabino Canyon.

Thank you happytrailstoyou. I am now thinking of driving to the Grand Canyon, spend the day there, then drive to Sedona, spend the night and take in all of Sedona for that next day. Then drive back to the hotel at the end of the day.It probably would have helped had I looked at a map more thoroughly
If you want to spend only one night out, I believe you would have a much better experience if you drive to the Grand Canyon and spend the night there (at a room in a lodge on the rim of the canyon, if possible). In this way, you can enjoy the canyon at sunset and in the quiet of the morning (before day-trippers flood the place).
On the second day, explore Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona on your way back to Chandler. Here is the scenic drive we like in Sedona: http://www.azcentral.com/travel/arizona/sedona/articles/2010/08/30/20100830road0717.html
