Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood would be the most logical for what you are asking.

Now about the hotel. What are you looking for? Budget or deluxe? How much do you want to spend? Luxury or just comfortable, or only a bed and a shower?

By the way, you will have a car, right?

Thanks for replying....

Comfortable on the HOtel, not too extravagant. I am willing to pay 100-130 a night. We will have a car. I am curious at to what to see, what is a waste of money. I went to the website www.seeing-stars.com, however, it is a little outdated as far as Celebrity restaurants, houses, etc....

Again, thanks for your help!!

You might find a deal in Beverly Hills-- nothing super-luxurious, but certainly acceptable. I think West Hollywood would be a little more central, but the good places are a little pricier. Hollywood? Another poster (clarkgriswold) has suggested a Comfort Inn on Highland that is cheap and gets high ratings on the travel sites, so....

But if you think you'll come out here and drive around to see celebrities like it's the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I'd think again. The times I've seen "stars", it's been fairly accidental; once literally, as Mary Tyler Moore's husband once almost ran me over while I was crossing Rodeo Dr. (she was riding shotgun). Besides, as far as I'm concerned they're always private citizens unless they're making an appearance, so I give them privacy. You may luck out and see location filming on some film or series-- but sometimes it's second-unit work and the main actors aren't even there.

Fundraisers are a good place to see celebs. I have a lovely picture of myself with Anna Nicole Smith at an AIDS fundraiser; yes, we're both drunk (I considerably less than she was). She is sweet and has a flawless complexion and the IQ of dryer lint, BTW.
