AR Visit Suggestion

We are looking for suggestions of other things to add to a summer, long-weekend visit to Fayetteville. We have never been to this part of the country if you can think of attractions within 100+- miles that we could add to the beginning or end of the weekend. No qualifiers, we would like to hear about your favorites.

You really need to go to Eureka Springs and see the Thorncrown Chapel. It's perfectly beautiful and nothing like anything I've ever seen. And how about the Sugar Ridge Resort? It's wonderful!

Fayetteville is a wonderful place for a weekend trip. I would second the suggestion for Eureka Springs. It is a small community that has numerous art galleries, unique shops and loads of atmosphere. It is approximately 1 hour from Fayetteville and the drive through the Ozarks is great. I would also recommend the Farmer's Market on the downtown Fayetteville Square on Saturday morning. If you are looking for an interesting place to eat, try the small community of Tontitown to the Northwest of Fayetteville (approx. 20 minute drive). It is a Italian community that has some wonderful family owned resturants with homemade Italian food. If you are looking for outdoor activities, there are numerous hiking opportunities in the area. Finally, visit the University of Arkansas campus to see Old Main, and the abortorium on the lawn.

Hope you have a wonderful time in Fayetteville!

Can I please ask again for suggestions for a night's lodging anywhere within 10 miles of Eureka Springs, AR? A cabin on the water somewhere would be great but several of the suggestions seem a little too honeymoon-like?? I'm probably over-analyzing this but we would really like to see as much of the Ozarks as possible in 24+ hours. Thanks
