Have been looking at the following condos and would appreciate any opinions anyone might have! Condos considering; Napili Kai Beach Resort, Hale Napili, Noelani, khanna sunset and khanna village. Looking for quiet grounds with oceanfront and beach close.

Leanne,
Have you considered staying in South Maui. The Wailea area is great. Grand Champions Villas are very reasonably priced. I own a rental unit there and would be happy to give you information on Wailea or Grand Champions. (My website is mauihawaiicondo.com if you'd care to look at it.)

We stayed in Wailea and this is what I have to say about condos:

Message: Pay with a credit card or stay in a Hotel.

We booked a Condo that we found on the internet. The pics on the site looked
great. When we got there it was just as it appeared. Great view, ok inside. But
at night, ALL THE BUGS CAME OUT.

This place was so Roach infested. I called and complained to the manager and
they told me that because of the cane burning, the roaches seek refuge at the
condos. BS. This place was infested and had been for some time.

I finally went to Lowes and bought a gallon of bug spray and hozed the place
down inside and out. For the next 7 days we awoke each morning to 5-10
roaches, 1/2 dead with their legs up in the air still kicking.

On the 1st night we were eaten alive by mosquitos. So, on the second day I
bought a fly swatter and that night spent 2 hours killing every mosquito I saw on
the ceiling. We were eaten alive again.

Every night for 4 nights I had to kill more and more mosquitos. We checked the
screens and found that they all had a 1/2" gap on the top. THEY WERE THE
WRONG SIZED SCREENS! I called and complained and got the runaround.

So, I took action. I went back to lowes and bought a big 2 pound roll of duct
tape and taped a 2" path all around the screens. Didn't look too good, but it did
the trick.

We wished we had gotten a Hotel.

Whomever you book with, ask for references. Pay only by credit card. Or have
some recourse whatsoever. We were powerless (sans the tape) and had to fix it
ourselves.

We stayed at the Noelani in April 2000. The grounds, pools, and common areas are extremely well kept. Our unit was very nice and the ocean front views were great. We had no problems with bugs or roaches. The beach next door to the Noelani was ok, but we preferred to drive to either Kapalua Bay or Napili Bay for the beaches there.

We stayed at the Napili Kai Beach Club in June 2000. It is a very nice area and the beach is great. It is also right next door to Kapalua Beach, which is also very pretty. I would stay here again, but I also really liked the Kaanapoli area (much more to do and closer to restaurants and shopping).
