Anybody ever used SkyAuction.com?

Is this site legit?

Anything I should be worried about in bidding on flights?

used it, completely legit and can find some excellent deals. be aware of any date restrictions and also, of any surcharges (especially involving weekend travel).

just read the fine print and you'll be fine.

and a note about auctions in general. something that always surprises me on skyauction & luxury link is how many people start bidding immediately on a new package. That is a very bad strategy and only ends up driving up the cost. Don't start bidding until a couple of hours before the auction ends. That way, you don't spark interest in the auction and you don't drive up the cost.

Another satisfied Skyauction customer.....have won 4 auctions; all with great savings and without any unpleasant surprises. I have not used Skyauctions yet for airline flights but would not have any concerns about doing so. Mah1980 gives some good advice.

I've been pleased with the auctions I've won, but read auctions over a few times before bidding. Sometimes a 7 day auction will go for $195. a wk. plus bid and other times it will read $195 pp a wk.

I used SkyAuction a year ago and had mixed results. I did get a fairly good deal on a condo at Hilton Head Island, but unlike the photo, our unit was 1/4 mile from the beach. The biggest problem I had was that after winning the auction and paying for it, SkyAuction took more than 2 weeks to confirm my reservation. I called several times to check the status and was told that they give preference in booking to last-minute travel and that they would eventually get to mine. I was told that I could get my money back, but I waited it out. I haven't used SkyAuction since.

I have had excellent results with air fares for several years. the cruises seem to be good deals, too, although I don't cruise.
