Any Tips on Advice on Provincetown, MA?

My wife and I are planning on spending two nights
in Provincetown, MA. Any hotel, restuarant or sightseeing information would be helpful. Thank you.

Try one of the whale watching tours. I'm not sure if this is the season for it, but when I went last fall, it was an exhilerating experience. Spend some time at the beach. The Atlantic side my be too cold for comfort, but I'm told the beaches on the bay side are milder in temperature. As for dining, there are lots to choose from. If you enjoy seafood, then this is the place for you. Lobsters, clam bakes, fresh catches, and local specialities are abound.
As for night-time entertainment, Burlesque shows, comic acts, and local flavors can be found along the main drag. The main street itself is an attraction all its own. From window shopping to people gazing, you'll sure find something of interest. Provincetown is quite liberal, so if "different" is not your fortay, stay away. Otherwise, enjoy the town for what it has to offer. Accomodations are plentiful, but I'd make reservations ahead of time. If you're staying two nights, you shouldn't have any problems filling the two night requirement during peak season. Search for B&Bs and other hotel/motels on the internet. That's where I found a place. Enjoy!

In the event that you are unaware of this, be advised that Provincetown is a very gay friendly town. So, if seeing same sex couples expressing their affection for one another in public would make you uncomfortable, you may wish to reconsider. We loved our daytrip to Provincetown. There are lots of outdoor cafes and restaurants along the waterfront. The art galleries are terrific. The scenery is spectacular. We loved watching the passing parade - it seemed that nearly everyone had a purebred dog on a leash!

You absolutely HAVE to do the whale watching tours...Dolphine Fleet Whale Watch is the company to go with because they study the animals and really know there stuff....1-800-826-9300 is the number.. i recomend you call and for advanced tix because they fill up fast...

Also, it gets pretty hectic in town w/all the tourists and cars, so leave w/plenty of time....
Have fun

The best value for a mainstream hotel is the Best Western. The rates are very competative and the rooms are fine. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to downtown. One pool, good view.

The best (and most expensive) Inn is the Brass Key. It's very, very nice and has a strong gay presence. It has two pools and is right in the middle of the town. Very classy.

The Watermark Inn is also very nice and is located directly on the water near the center of Town. Most of the rooms are suites with sofas, etc.. No pool.

The two best restaurants are "Front Street" (awesome Italian) and "Lorraine's" (traditional Mexican). Neither are cheap but both are excellent.

I would also suggest renting bike and riding to the beach. Have a blast and relax. That's what P-town is all about.

Rent bikes and ride along the sand dunes to the lighthouse at Race Point or ride all the way down to the inner cape along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. One of the most beautiful and easy bike rides you could ever imagine.
Have fun !!!
