Any Sanibel experts?
Taking my family with 2 toddlers to Sanibel for the first time. I have air from Chicago on hold with American Air for $209/pp, AI. (Am I unlikely to find a lower fare?)
I'm trying to decide between beachfront condos at Sundial, Pointe Santo, and a less expensive unit at a small complex called Pine Cove.
Any feedback on any of these places? Our kids will want to use the pool and we will be biking them around for the week. Sundial looks appealing because there's apparently a decent onsite restaurant which sounds convenient.

It would be helpful to know what your dates are in terms of that "will I find a lower fare?" question. I assume you are flying into RSW. Have you compared your AA flights with the N/S services on Southwest from Midway?
I've been to Sanibel but have not stayed in any of your listed accommodations, unfortunately.

We go to Sanibel almost every year. The resorts you mention are fine - we stayed in a Sundial condo last spring and were very happy. Didn't eat in the restaurant though. There is also a little convenience store at Sundial. Sundial has several pools but depending on how you are renting some may not be available. Haven't stayed at Pointe Santo but have seen it and it is nice. I have been told that the pool is smallish and often crowded. Pine Cove is nice, we like the smaller condo places. Sundial is very large but we stayed in an end building and didn't mind. I think the fare is reasonable - we never see a fare that low from Kansas City.

We are flying in mid-May, totally forgot about Southwest which doesn't show up on ITA Matrix so thanks for that reminder. I recall seeing a flight to Ft Myers last year for around 100, RT on American but perhaps that was a fluke.
I like the idea of a small complex like Pine Cove but someone said it's close to a public access area and so that part of the beach can be crowded.

You might look at Loggerhead Cay and Oceans Reach condo complexes. I almost always use VRBO, at least for research. Sanibelvacations.com has some higher end properties. Look for a condo that supplies beach towels, toys and beach wagon. Some even supply bikes. The only time we have ever had crowded beaches was on weekends or holidays and then it would have just been a short walk to a less crowded area.
