Any information on the Kapaa Shores Condos on Kauai?

We will be staying at the Kapaa Shores Condos on Kauai in February 2002. Can anyone give me a general feel for this area. I know that Kapaa is not as fancy as the Princeville area, but this is the place that was available. Any insights will be appreciated.

Kapaa is a town with condos, not a resort - you are close to several shopping centers and many other shops and restaurants on the main road, which has a lot of traffic. But Kapaa Shores is far enough off the road that the noise isn't a problem, and inside the grounds have a nice tropical feeling, with tall palm trees surrounding the pool. There's a small unswimmable beach (shallow and rocky, with rough surf), and you have great views of the sunrise. The condos are not fancy, but clean and comfortable.

To Canuck:

I'm assuming you were asking me for the cost of the Kapaa shores.

We purchased a Marriott Timeshare in Utah, and have traded it for the Kapaa shores. Therefore, I can't give an actual cost for this stay. I would guess it would be somewhere in the $150 to $175 range though.

My family stayed at the Kapaa Shores for a week this June. We had a two bedroom unit. The cost then was $850 for the week,a very reasonable price. The best thing is the grocery store is just across the road [Safeway] with three very good restaurants within walking distance. My kids liked playing shuffleboard every evening after dinner. The grounds do have a wonderful feel to them with grills available for nights you want to stay in. My cousin who has lived on Kauai for 30 years recommended them to us.
