Any good sushi in Scottsdale?
Going next week. Staying at JW Marriott. Any good, or great places to have sushi for lunch. Love a good sushi.
Or any other must not miss eating places in the general area? I know there is a Roys there in the hotel. We will probably be hitting that one night for dinner.

We had a great meal at Roaring Fork - rich flavorful, southwestern food - great service, terrific wine list and desserts. We also like the Italian restaurant Leccabafi - very authentic Tuscan food in a lovely atmosphere.

I don't know how close to your hotel it will be, but several posters have stated that Ra, in Tempe, has the best sushi in the area.
You should probably check Chowhounds.com's Southwest Board for all area sushi options. The people that post are all major "foodies" and their advice is usually pretty sound. Have a great trip!

I will be in Scottsdale next week and we will be eating at SeaSaw. From what I understand it is not a traditional sushi restaurant, but more like a Nobu where you can order omakase, among other things. I hear the chef and restaurant are excellent.

We had great sushi last year at Sushi Ra which is right at Kierland commons near your hotel.
We just got back yesterday from this year's trip and had great southwestern food at the Coyote Grill at Scottsdale and Bell. Beware, spicy means spicy!

That's the one I mentioned too. GREAT Arizona rolls and also very good tempura.
Funny little story - we were in Santa Fe a few years ago & I ordered eggs for breakfast, which they served with a little cup of salsa. I dumped it all over my eggs, took a bite & turned bright red! When I could speak again, I said to my husband, "we're not in Chi-Chi's any more"!
