Any chance of seeing trees blossom in May?

I am planning a trip to NY May 10. I would have loved to see the cherry blossom trees in their full bloom! But I think I will miss that since it seems to happen around mid April or so? I hope I am wrong! Any chance of seeing some kind of blossom still and what is the temperature there around that time?

We have a mall of cherry trees in my neighborhood and they bloomed in April last year. However, according to this article there might be some in May in Central Park.

We've had a very warm winter in NYC, so I don't have a lot of confidence that you'll still be seeing cherry blossoms in mid-May, but there's always hope. We're going to have snow this weekend, so who knows what's in store for the next couple of weeks, but trees are already starting to bud here.

Down in D.C. the forecast was moved to an earlier date, as the warm weather coaxed an early bloom. The flowers are already blossoming and will be peaking in a few days. Just guessing that New York might follow with an earlier bloom as well?

No - this has been a very warm and early spring (despite a little bit of snow in the upcoming days) and the cherry trees on our street are already well into bud (yes, very early).

May can be warm or you can get early summer and it can be hot. Average high for May is 71 but you ca easily get 80 - or low 60s. There will definitely be lots of flowers - but not trees in bloom.

Yep, it sure sounds like I'll miss the peak of the beautiful cherry blossoms. But I will definitely visit Central Park anyway as I'm sure it's still pretty with all it's flowers. Thanks so much for all your replies!
