Any car rental companies located AT Miami airport??

Hi all! Our family is heading down to Miami, Florida in December. It seems to take so long to catch a car rental bus to some offsite place to rent the car. We'd prefer to actually pick up the car at the airport. Does anyone know of a car rental company that rents cars AT the airport?? Thanks!!

Hi Jill! Was in Miami last month, and remember all the shuutle buses arriving for all the national companies- We had reservations with Alamo. I don't remember seeing any that were at the airport. A hint of brightness though- I had signed up for Alamo's quicksilver program, and the time from when we got our luggage to driving off the lot was about 30 mins. or less.

Hi Jill,

I travel several times a year to Miami and always rent a car. Alot of airports no longer have the space to accomodate the rental counters in the same buildings as the terminals. Gail gives good advice however. Simply reserve your car from one of the top rental agencies (I prefer Avis) and go straight to their shuttle bus. If you apply for priority status (Avis wizard card)the bus driver will drop you right at your car. In Miami it never takes me longer than 15 minutes to be on the road. -- LAX is another story!

We were in Miami last summer and I seem to recall that one company had cars at the airport, but can't remember which one (the company we had - Avis- did not) so you may want to call around. Good luck!

I am a native of Miami. All rental car agencies, like in most cities are off site and you must take a shuttle to them. All the major companies have shuttles. Depending on traffic it takes 5-8 minutes or less. Budget, for example is like 3 minutes away..depending on the day and hour. Good luck and welcome! have fun!

Another option is that some of the hotels have rentals available at the hotel. you can ask if they have a van to pick you up at the airport & then get your car when you get to the hotel. I know the Sonesta Beach Hotel on Key Biscayne offers this service & perhaps other do,too.
