Antiques in Camden, ME and along US1

I am traveling to the Camden, ME-Port Clyde area and wondering if anyone has suggestions of good antique "haunts" in the area. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to head north toward Ellsworth, the Chicken Barn right on Rt 1 has a first floor devoted to antiques and a second floor for used books. Plan to have lunch at Just Barb's in Stockton Springs.

Not in Camden but on the way there, in downtown Bath, Maine, off of Route 1 on Front Street called Trifles. I am not sure what kind of antiques you are looking for. This place is expensive BUT is worth dropping into, if only to get inspired. This is probably one of the most beautiful antique stores I've ever been to, anywhere, ever. It is hard to describe. The owner finds these pieces that one would probably ordinarily ignore but with the way he repurposes them, it becomes quite special. An example for instance is how he layers glass domes, one on top of each other, over something quite unexpected. The store doesn't actually have store hours, I was just very fortunate to run into it and they happened to be open but you could call ahead of time probably to check if they will be there.

There's also a lot in Wiscasset Maine, on your way up to Camden - of course, also a reason to stop at Red's : )

We saw quite a few places on Route 3 between Belfast and Ellsworth - don't remember if there were any west of Belfast on Route 3, but there might have been.

We didn't stop to look anywhere, though, so not sure what they were like.

There are many places on Route 1 between Belfast and Ellsworth, especially in Stockton Springs. I was just through there last weekend, but can't get DH to stop and our car was packed with post-camping stuff.

Sorry, Route 1 and Route 3 are the same in that area, I always just think of it as the Coastal Route 1.
