Antelope Canyon visit – confused about time zones
We will be traveling in Sept from the Grand Canyon to Page, AZ. As I’m trying to figure out which Antelope Canyon tour is the best for us, I read that: the state of Arizona doesn't follow Daylight Savings Time, but the Navajo Reservation does. Since Antelope Canyon is on reservation land, this means that the tour for the Antelope Canyon is scheduled using daylight saving time, right? Which puts Grand Canyon (S rim) and Antelope in the same time zone, right?
It seems that the drive from GC to Page is about 3-3:30 hrs – we will do the overlooks the prior day, so this will be driving only. Is 3-3:30 hrs a correct assumption?
I am still not sure which company tour to choose – does anyone know how big the groups are with “Antelope Canyon Tours”? The small groups and the a/c vehicles that Grand Circle Adventures use are very appealing, but their tour departs at 1pm. They say the best time to be in the canyon is 11am-1pm. Would 1:30 be too late for Sept 12th?
Lots of questions but hope you can help. Thanks a lot

If the Navajo reservation is on Daylight Savings Time (which it is), why would that be the same time zone as the Grand Canyon which is not on the Navajo reservation, but in non-Navajo Arizona which does not observe DST?
In other words - NO, they are not the same time zone. Call the tour company to make sure of your times.

Not a silly question at all, let me tell you what happened to us....... Coming from the North Rim, we too wanted to go to Antelope Slots, we were also doing the float trip that day, so we allowed time to do both.... well...... we get to Page go to make a call from our cell phone and my friend notices her time has changed on her cell phone... We were upset to say the least when was there a time change??? So now we don't have time for Antelope Slots and to get back for the float trip....., we get to the Float Trip she notices the clock on the wall and guess what it is an hour different from our cells........... We were upset to say the least asked what time it really was and she asked us if we had Verizon cell phones which we did, they are picking up a Utah tower which is what changed our time..........ARGH!!!!!!!!!! NO TIME CHANGE from the North Rim!!!!!! We missed the Slots for nothing.... Thanks Verizon................
