Any suggestions on a one-day trip to Amish Country? Looking for a good restaurant and a nice place to stay - with 2 children. Will that rule out B&Bs? Also, is Sunday a no go?

Anything around Sugar Creek is nice. And Sunday is a big day for business. Don't know about B&Bs, but there are probably Internet listings.
Inn at Honey Run in Millersburg is nice and they have good food. You might want to call 1-800-Buckeye for more info.
there are some great package deals for stays in Sugarcreek---night's stay, dinner, breakfast, cheese, bakery goods, coupons. The dinner and breakfast are vouchers for good restaurants. I don't have the number. I'll get back to you on that.
My wife frequents the craft shopping and dining down in Berlin, Sugar Creek.... There is a hotel called the amish Door that is really nice. We have eaten there a couple times and her parents stayed there. They loved it.
It is just north east of Berlin.
I'm back. The name of the place where we stayed (and are going to stay again in November) is Swiss Village Inn, Sugarcreek, Ohio. The number is 800-792-6822. Their website is swissvillageinn.com. It links to the special winter package deal
The highlight of my family's Thanksgiving visit to my wife's folks in Ohio is the now annual excursion into Ohio Amish country. Both the Alpine-Alpa and the Amish Door serve simple but tasty meals. I prefer the Alpine-Alpa. Both restaurants are in Wilmot, at the eastern edge of Amish country. Delicious cheese can be had at Heini's in Berlin where you can watch it being made. A fine surprise is that free samples of many different kinds of cheeses is provided by Heini's. You can make a quick lunch out of it. Nearly every town of size has some sort of bakery, jam or sweet shop. What I like best of Ohio Amish country is driving the winding roads through towns like Charm, Winesburg (is this Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg?), Berlin, Sugarcreek, Millersburg, Walnut Creek, Mt. Eaton, Kidron (home of Lehman's hardware), Mt. Hope and Apple Creek. The area is also craft heaven- it's hard for me to keep my wife out of places like Swiss Village Quilts and Crafts in Sugarcreek. Drive gently through Amish Country. The roads can be very winding and rough with many perilous blind spots, especially when reaching the top of a hill. Special care must be given to the Amish as they drive their buggies. Sadly, it seems every year some Amish are killed by a reckless driver of a car. It's best to keep it nice and slow when driving through Amish country. What's the rush?
Topping for Bill...
Everyone has such different interests. My 70+ yo parents were raised on farms during the depression. You couldn't pay them to go to Amish Country. Life on farms during the depression isn't so different from Amish life today.
