Do I need converters or adaptors for my hair dryer and curler while in Japan?
When I clicked to preview my message it came up that It was posted in Japan, so I changed to US. But I'm going to Japan.
Thanks,
Susan

You should post on the Asia board.
So how do I do that?
see the "Change Forum" pulldown menu . . . click that and move over to the Asia board.
OK, but it doesn't seem right because I'm not in Japan which is what comes up when I do that, but I did it, thanks
If your hairdryer has 2 prongs instead of the third grounding plug it will plug in but not work as efficiently as it would in the US. Japan voltage is only 100 volts. Some of japan is 60 Hz and the rest is 50 Hz. which doesn't make much difference with a heating element but don't try to use other things designed for 120 Volts and 60Hz. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2225.html
If there is a Japan made hairdryer in the room, use it instead of your own.
YOu post in the forum where you are going, not where you are from. Posting it on the Asia forum with a Japan tag means that people who can offer advice on traveling in Japan will see it.
Use the hairdryer IN your hotel room
