Alaskan helicopter glacier trek/hike

We went on Princess glacier landing out of Juneau using Temsco. Wonderful experience. Included bus to helicopter place, short safety video, helicopter ride to glacier, about 30 minutes on glacier, helicopter ride back, bus back to ship.
Was not cheap and possibly could self-arrange for less money. But we had no complaints.

Neither of the above are treks, which is the question?? The best is run by Northstar, which is also a ship contractor, but does take independent bookings. Only company in Skagway is TEMSCO.
I only recommend the level 3. And even that isn't a lot of time. Level 2 barely gets out on the ice, before you have to start heading back. Problem is, time, and groups only going as fast as the slowest person. Superior is a hike in with Above and Beyond, out of Juneau, Exit Glacier guides, out of Seward, Matanuska treks, 2 hours from Anchorage.

We traveled last week with ERA Alaska Flightseeing Tours (http://www.flightseeingtours.com/content/index_eng.html). It was a phenomenal way into Denali National Park--a 10 minute helicopter flight took us the equivalent distance of an 8-hour hike. Our guide, Jeffrey, was excellent. He knew everything about the plants and animals, carried a high-powered scope with him to point out far-away sheep and caribou, and customized the hike for our ability level. He took us along narrow sheep paths, through scree and soft tundra. After a 4-hour hike, when we were waiting for the helicopter back, my husband realized he had left his camera sometime when we stopped to rest earlier. Jeffrey promised to go back on his next hike to look for it. My husband thought it was lost forever (unless some bear found it), but I said that I had faith that Jeffrey was a great guide and could find his way back to it. And he did. He's mailing it back to us.
