Alaska w/party of 8 for 2 weeks - could use your help!

We have decided to take our children/spouses on a trip. I'm considering Alaska as one option, however I could really use some help. We are a party of 8 with 6 "kids" between 26-32. We have up to 2 weeks. Can I do this for under $24,000? Not interested in long cruises - couple nights max. - interested in the Kenai Fjords day cruise. Would love a mix of scenery, Denali/Kenai Fjords/small towns - the "kids" will love the opportunity for outdoor sports...kayaking, rafting, biking, etc.

The problem I'm having is I don't want to be changing hotels often....we like to slow down a little and have a "home" base. Ideally I'd love a max of 3 but would do 4 if we're staying for 2 weeks....and I really don't want to have to do long drives. I already know car rental is expensive and we'll need 2! I would love to base in towns which offer different activities...Seward possibly being one? I know adding Denali into the mix makes it a little more difficult....

If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. Alaska is daunting to begin with and adding in a party of 8 compounds the matter!
