Just returned from 12 day Alaska trip. Flew to ANC stayed night (Wild Flower B&B) Larry was a great host ,delicious breakfast. I would stay again. It is on a noisy street so if you are a light sleeper.. beware. Drove to Cooper Landing( Kenai Peninsula) so guys could fish. There were two couples on our trip... no kids. We stayed in Cooper Landing at the Hutch B&B. Simple clean rooms with common area with fridge and tv for Dvds. Campfire at night and George and Shirley are great hosts. At Cooper LAnding my husband and brother went trout fishing with TroutFitters... they were pleased! Went to Homer stayed three nights at the Cranes Rest B & B. Steve and Julie were fabulous.. rooms great! would always stay here.
Kayaked in Homer with St Augustine.. full day... wonderful trip. Otters, Seals birds.... My brother and his wife went to Halibut Cove and had lunch at the Saltry.. Loved HAlibut Cove. My husband did a fishing charter( Northwest country).. caught his limit of Salmon and halibut.. it arrived in SLC today... YUM! We loved the Homestead for dinner in Homer (a 15 minute drive from town), and on the spit... Captain Patties.. need reservation for both. In Anchorage eat at the Marx Brothers Cafe.
Got an RV from ABC Motorhome rental near the ANC airport. Great! Spent 4 nights in Denali at a camp ground in the park.. reserved in January. Took the shuttle saw nine grizzlies, moose, sheep and caribou! Guys fished for greyling... caught 50! and released of course. Denali was out for three of our four days!!!!! Want to go back!

The rv to Denali sounds interesting. What else did you do there with your four days. Sounds like something I might want to do. We were in Alaska 3 years ago and really enjoyed it, but didn't go to Denali. Basiscally, just did Kenai.
I loved Denali. The bus ride to the Eilsen visitor center and back takes a day. It is a dirt road and the bus stops for photos and animals. We arrived late one night. Hiked near the camp ground the first day then did the shuttle ride on the second day and had to leave on the last day.. my error we were in the park 3 nights and then went to a commercial park closer to Anc the 4th night. So we had two full days in the park and could have stayed longer.... The hiking is beautiful. The Rv (my first experience) was great.. I have always been a tent camper, but did not think it possible to try and haul camping gear.... The Rv was 24 ft. 4 adults were fine in it and it was small enough to fit in the camp ground.
