Alaska tours to view calving glaciers
We will be in Alaska for 8 days in early August - Flying in to Anchorage and spending some time in Denali and Seward.
Question: what are the recommended boat tours to see glaciers and glacier calving? Should we take tours from Anchorage or from Seward, and which tour companies or tours are recommended? Is the "Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise" from Seward a good one to see calving glaciers, or are there better ones from other towns?
Related question: Also, are there recommended glaciers to visit via driving and short hikes (1-3 miles)?
Thanks!

I didn't spend the money to go on a boat in Alaska. I did hike up to the toe of Exit Glacier NW of Seward.
I'm pretty sure there is no guarantee that a glacier will be calving at the moment that the boat is going by.

The glacier tours out of Whittier will let you see more glaciers in the time you're on the boat; the Kenai Fjords tours will get close to glaciers but they're more about the marine wildlife you'll encounter than glaciers.
Seeing glaciers calving is not guaranteed; you might see it, might not.
