My wife and I will be in Seward at the beginning of September for three days and need to get from Seward to Whittier to catch the cruise from Whittier to Vancouver. Is there a company or shuttle that transports from Seward to Whittier without going back to Anchorage? And at a reasonable rate!!

Trip Ideas
The Alaska Railroad travels from Seward to Anchorage, check their website about bus to Whittier. www.alaskarailroad.com. My family just finished trip from Whittier to Anchorage following a Princess cruise & we got Princess rail trip, which was suitable for the 60 miles.
Pertaining to the above post, there is NO service between Whittier and Seward with Alaska RR. With their choice of the cruise contracted train, they paid more than the regular run which is once/day at 6pm. This section has no advantage over the Seward Highway, parallels the entire way.
There are a few companies that do a direct transfer. PJ's taxi is one, other listings www.seward.com
Thanks Budget Queen. I sort of thought that was my answer. I have talked with Renee from PJ's and we will probably travel with them. I am hoping someone else is looking for the same route to decrease the cost of the van. The cost is pretty close to that of bus to Anchorage and bus to Whittier without additional taxi passengers. I am surprised that more people don't travel that route as Seward sounds like a great place to visit.
I suggest you post this on the roll call board for your cruise, on www.cruisecritic.com if you have not already. I would think you may have a chance of finding other riders.
Were you able to find ride partnet for your taxi trip to Whittier? My friend and I are traveling the same route next week. I reserved an Avis rental and it is VERY expensive. I'd live to reference your experience if possible.
BTW, are you flying into Anchorage? If yes, how do you travel from Anchorage to Seward?
BudgetQueen,
Thanks for the suggestion on the roll call board. I found a thread on the same cruise that we will be on and added a post looking for share-ride. Hopefully, there will be someone interested.
