Julie:
Where in Alabama?
If they're headed to a beach in Alabama, their most likely destination would be Gulf Shores.
The "In-Season" for the northern part of the Gulf Coast is typically from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Although people from the northern states and Canada find the weather very moderate, there aren't enough tourists to support many of the Summertime attractions.
You will find that short sleeved shirts will be sufficient most of the time. But since it is November, be sure to have some long-sleeved shirts and jackets. If you are into golf, check out the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
We vacationed in Gulf Shores this summer, and it was beautiful. If indeed that is where you are heading, it is a good choice. The beach is wonderful. We stayed at the Holiday Inn right on the beach. Very nice. For good food, I'd check out the Lambert's Cafe that's just a few miles away.
If your going to the gulf then your in for a treat. This is the best time of year because of the great rates and not crowds. We stayed at a place in Orange Beach that we booked for spring break next year. Check out
