Are your dates set in stone or are you flexible? Try itasoftware.com, where you can check "nearby airports" and a date range. Then you go directly to the airline's website to purchase your tickets.

I fly 1-2 times/year from New England to Florida - "good price" has increased noticeably in past year or so - and the difference in days of the week has also increased. So if you have any flexibility, try to modify your dates. And remember that February and April vacation weeks in New England plus Easter really increase fares around those dates.

If you go to kayak or one of the other sites do as Gretchen advised as Jet Blue and Southwest do not appear there. IF fares go down, southwest will let you change without penalty and keep the difference for a future flight.
