Advice on time split between Maui and Oahu
Should I spend 7 full days and nights at Maui and 4 full days and nights at Oahu on Waikiki Beach or should I give one more night to Oahu. I have us double booked at this point in time on Christmas night. My kids are college aged. They are into water sports, beaches, etc. But of course we will see Pearl Harbor. Thanks for any advise. Are you flying into and out of Honolulu, and taking an interisland flight to Maui?
Which hotels have you booked on each island? 7 days is not a long time for two islands, but you can have fun with just a couple nights in Waikiki and the rest of the time on Maui. Have you ever been to Hawaii before?

I have 12 days and 11 nights all together and we are staying at Hana one night, and 5 or 6 nights at the Sheraton on Kanaapali Beach and 4 or 5 nights at the Hilton on Waikiki. And no, we have never been to these parts of Hawaii before. I've been to the Big Island, but my college aged children have never been to Hawaii. They are most interested in snorkeling, body surfing, if it's safe anywhere, hiking, and resting. But they do like action as well. So I think the two islands I chose will suffice. I just don't know how to split the time. If we check out on Christmas day we will be 6 full days in Maui and 5 full days in Oahu, with the day in the middle being for travel between the islands.

I like Oahu the best and would spend more time there. So an extra night on Oahu is a good idea.
One thing you might look into is many Oahu (don't know about the other islands) hotels offer every fifth night free.
Lots to do on Oahu:
