I'm planning to visit Taos Pueblo, the Millicent Roges Museum, and Hacienda Martinez in late September. Are they all worth a visit? Thanks!

In know only Taos Pueblo form your list, and it is definitly worth a visit. IMO, still the most photogenic of all pueblos (including Acoma). It is incredibly beautiful and gives you a good impression how the Anasazi lived.

I never heard of the other two attractions, although I have visited Northern New Mexico a couple of times.

Taos Pueblo still has quite a few people living there; it's not in ruins at all.

I haven't been to the Millicent Rogers Museum. Hacienda Martinez was just closing for the day the last time we were in Taos, but it looks like an interesting glimpse into Spanish colonial life in New Mexico.

Taos Pueblo is worth the trip and I liked it a bit better than Acoma, although there were similarities. The Hacienda was hosting a festival when we were there in late September a couple of years ago, and it was very interesting with dances and music from the historic Spanish times, lots of kids in beautiful dress. Each of these would only take an hour or so to visit if a festival or special event were not taking place. In Taos you need to pay to bring your camera in to the Pueblo and ask permission of any people you take photos of.

While your in the neighborhood of Taos Pueblo; you should check out Red River if you haven't already. Beautiful scenery, pleasant people; just serene!!! Might I recommend Red River Real Estate for your visit. Great cabins and townhouses; pretty much any area and any type setting you are looking for! Hope to see you there!

We visited the Millicent Rogers Museum in December. It's close to town and worth the drive. If you enjoy vintage turquoise and silver jewelry you will want to visit. The museum has displays of the many rugs and jewelry she collected over the years. Such gorgeous pieces. This is a book of her jewelry that is worth reading if you enjoy collecting or just appreciate old jewelry, Fine Indian Jewelry of the Southwest: The Millicent Rogers Museum Collection.

I, too, recommend the pueblo. Check out their calender for your travel dates to see if there is a ceremony you could attend. They are very special to witness. However, photography is not allowed on the pueblo during ceremonies. Any other day you'll pay a camera fee as you will want to bring home photos of this beautiful pueblo.

You also need to check the Taos Pueblo calendar because there are days when the pueblo is closed to outsiders. You would not want to show up only to be turned away.

Taos Pueblo, yes, and love the Miliicent Rogers, she had a good eye. Haven't been to the Martinez Hacienda so don't know. Consider driving up to wild rivers for a fabulous hike, north of Taos by maybe 45 minutes, but what scenery, conjunction of the Rio Grande and the Red River, wow!
