Could someone please suggest some places to stay while we are in the Rapid City area to view the attractions there? I found a Holiday Inn Express and a Ramada Inn. Are these some of the better ones?
Thanks for advice.

We have not been there as yet but have reservations for Custer State Park and understand from our daughter that it is a wonderful place to stay! http://www.custerresorts.com/activities.asp
The Ramada is nice--the rooms all have refrigerators and are good size. There's a small pool with a large waterslide that kids love (even my 14 year old). Rapid City has 2 Holiday Inn Express'--stay at the one on Disk Drive only. It's near the mall and is much much newer and nicer than the other one. There's also a very nice Holiday Inn downtown that we've stayed at and like. It's built like an Embassy Suites hotel, with the atrium in the middle. The Radisson is also downtown and is probably the nicest hotel in R.C.
As far as restaurants, the Firehouse, Botticelli and Sanford's are all downtown and good in their own way...Botticelli is our favorite.
I appreciate the suggestions. I will call for reservations today.CSG
Have stayed at and would recommend the Holiday Inn downtown. As Tess notes, it is similar to an Embassy Suites in its construction. Can also recommend the Firehouse for dinner.
