Thankyou. We did that but each and everyone have said to us that it comes down to personal choice. However not knowing the area or the country we just thought someone might have suggestions or recommendations.

I haven't personally stayed at the Flamingo, but I know others who have and I have looked into booking it for others so I have read reviews, etc. From what I can gather, the Flamingo is probably average. It has mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. I realize how important it is to be economically reasonable and I'm not sure your budget, but I believe you can get more out of your money elsewhere. Excalibur, Circus Circus, and Stratosphere may be considerations for you. Also, not sure the location you are looking to stay (in the middle of the strip of if it matters?). It does come down to personal choice but it is also important for whoever you consult with to help you make the best decision for what you are looking for.

The Flamingo is an older hotel in a fairly central location. Certainly not in the top 20 or 30 properties in Vegas these days. It's noted mainly for its pool area, which is one of the city's best, but it will be closed during the time you're there, making it much less alluring to me. I know the hotel has undergone some renovation since I stayed there last, so the rooms are much nicer than what I've seen in the past, but I've always chosen it because it's cheap, not because it's good.

There are certainly much better choices these days, but many of them will be more expensive.

I do stay at the Flamingo and it is fine, especially if you get a good deal. Expect a very long line at check in and not to get into your room early without a surcharge. You can leave your bags with bellmen, which is very well organized. Beware they stopped the "NO RESORT FEE" campaign in March and now charge a mandatory $18.00 fee per day.

As others have said if you can get a good deal the Flamingo is OK. Not the newest, but it is in a great location for visiting other Strip casinos. They have a great pool area. Last stayed there about 18 months ago. Mainly picked for location and price.

I just stayed at the Flamingo this past January (the price couldn't be beat) and I agree that it is fine. It's an average property without a lot of the snazzier details that the other hotels have, but the location is excellent.

Since I spend little time in the room while in Vegas, I prioritize location and price over the fanciness of the hotel.

The check in line at the Flamingo can be very long, but if you have a Total Rewards membership the line for check in at their separate counter may save you time.

Since it sounds like the OP hasn't been to Vegas before, I'm going to vote for the best location possible on the Strip. That is: Center Strip, if at all possible.

I can't see recommending Circus Circus, Excalibur or Stratosphere, even at rock-bottom prices, due to their horrible locations. Mandalay Bay and Luxor are extreme South Strip resorts, but at least they're relatively nice.

The Flamingo is a bit of Vegas history, and the recent renovations make it a safe choice. I'm a fan of Mirage-- even more in the center of the Strip, and a step up in luxury. If you're a bit less fussy about deluxe accommodations, Harrah's is always an option-- clean and well-situated, if not very classy.

I'm dying to check out the old Imperial Palace space, now that it's completely renovated and renamed the Quad. Cheapovegas says that it's a nice budget choice, albeit a bit Spartan. That might be an option.

We had a bad experience with the Flamingo when we pre-paid for accommodations for friends and the hotel still charged them at check-out. It took over 2 months to get a refund.

It is a great location, center strip. I have stayed there but it was 10 years ago so can't comment on current rooms. However I would not hesitate to stay again.

For the same money I'd book Harrahs. Flamingo is fine but seemed like a at house crowd loud, worn carport, etc.

We stayed there maybe 6 years ago? I liked the rooms and pool, casino and on site buffet, also close to the tram. At that time, one thing I did not like was that there was smoking on most floors. Had to put a wet towel at bottom of door so as not to get smell from down the hall (even though non smoking floor...)

Nice thing about Flamingo and other related hotels is that you can check init the airport and avoid the very long lines a the hotel.
