Accommodation suggestions for family of six going to Kauai and Oahu at Easter. Love surfing, snorkeling and eating.

Going back for our second trip and would like to do
it a bit more economically this time. Would like a place on the beach possibly a cottage. Does such a thing exist? Suggestions appreciated!

We're going to Kauai in March and I found a 2 bedroom oceanfront condo for rent by owner on the web. Check this out:
www.ivacation.com/p5427.htm
If this one doesn't suit you, there are others avail. Don't know yet what the suite will be like but the resort sounds wonderful.
There are other sites with condos and cottages for rent. Go to the Hawaii Visitors Convention site:
www.gohawaii.com
Kauai has their own visitors bureau where you can get a guide:
1-800-262-1400 or www.kauai-hawaii.com
2 realty companies also have rentals:
www.prosser-realty.com and
www.rnr-realty-rental.com
Good luck!

Last December we stayed with our entire extended family at the Poipu Kai Resort on Kauai. The condo rooms were wonderful and a two bedroom quite spacious. The whole complex is right on the ocean and some units face the sea of course. The nearby beach was nice and visited every day by a Monk seal. Just a 5 minute walk down the beach is the Hilton - providing wonderful dining opportunities. I don't remember exact costs, but it was reasonable. They also have an activities desk to help you with anything you want to do while there. If I go back to Kauai, I'll probably go there again!

Hope this helps.

Oops, '5 minutes down the beach' from the Poipu Kai Resort isn't the Hilton, but the Hyatt Regency. You may have seen other info about how nice the Hyatt is. I can confirm - it was gorgeous!
