A question for all those familiar with Indian Shores Florida
I just read Bonnie's postcard and wanted to ask you all if we need to rent a boat for our time there. We will be spending 5 days in December with our children at Indian Shores in a condo that has a boat slip. I've talked with a marina and he will rent us a boat for 259.99 a day x 5 days or 289.00 x 3 days. I wanted to go to Caladesi and Anclote Key Island and the only way there is by boat. Also, wanted to go to John's Pass by boat although, could drive there. Please give me your opinions? DH thinks it not a good use of our money. Or, maybe I should just rent it for a day or two. Advice please!

cd, you drive to Ft. De Soto, as well. Depending on the traffic, it's half an hour, more or less. (So much depends on time of day and traffic when you drive in that area.) By the way, you can walk to Caladesi from the north end of Clearwater Beach (LONG walk, I've heard) but we love the ferry ride from Honeymoon Island. Have a wonderful visit there ...
