*A Pacific Cafe* Restaurant Question???
Haven't been to Hawaii for awhile, and have heard that *A Pacific Cafe* on Maui (my fave was in Kihei!) has closed, but do still hear comments on the one on Kauai! AuntieM, can you help me here? The food was so fabulous......... any idea what happened on Maui, and do you know how many restaurants my favorite chef (his name is escaping me at the moment! Jean blah-blah???) still has open in all of Hawaii? Thanks in advance.....

If you're referring to Pacific Cafe over by Star Market on the west side of Maui, I'm sorry to say it's long gone. I go over every November and we stay right by there. It's been vacant the last couple years and I don't recall seeing it in a new location.

Sunnygirl, I know there were two of his restaurants on Maui but I'm speaking of the one in the strip mall in Kihei. I ate at lots of restaurants on all the islands, but that was my favorite! Thank you for your reply! Just wondering what happened to with him..........

Aloohaaa and HAPPY FRIDAY!
Jean Marie Josselin, mon amini!
I believe the Maui location is closed.
I thought I heard a "divorce story" or was that Buzz' Steak House story?
I heard the Kauai location is still good for dinner.
We only have done the big pupu platters with beer at the bar, a Kauaiian "1st night" tradition for us and our local buddy and his beautiful wife..until our schedule screwed it up last 2 trips.
OK...2nd night traditions are good too!
256 mo' nights!

Jean-Marie Josselin still has his restaurant in Kapa`a, here on Kaua`i -- and occasionally can be found in the kitchen, too (quite a treat for diners, when he's the chef du jour!).
I knew that his Maui restaurant had closed, and have heard mumbles that his Vegas restaurant closed also ("808"), but that his San Diego establishment is still open.
You might try a search on google.com to see what he's up to now.

Thank you so much........... JEAN MARIE JOSSELIN, of course!!! He makes the BEST sesame-encrusted mahi in the world!!! I remember how GORGEOUS the food presentation was the first time I was at his place in Kihei. Definitely will visit the Kauai location when I go back!!! Mahalo, ya'll!
