This time we decided to do a very non-touristy weekend in San Francisco. This meant no Golden gate Bridge, no Fisherman's Warf, no Alcatraz etc. Below are two links to my travel blog.
We visited the Mission District, Ferry Building and the farmers market thats there on Saturdays. Being foodies, we also checked out the foodie scene in San Francisco. Some of the places we went to are, Delfina, Blue Bottle & Four Barrel.

Beautiful photos! I loved the ferry building too.
Was Sam's Burgers in the Mission? We had really good Mexican food when we were there. Did you go in the actual Mission church and the cemetery? Fascinating place and not that crowded. People tend to forget there's an actual Mission in the Mission District.
Sam's is in NorthBeach/Chinatown.
The actual mission isn't really in the Mission District -Mission Dolores is at 16th and Dolores, which they describe well as "Located at the crossroads of the City's Mission District, Castro District, the Lower Haight, Noe Valley, and Upper Market Street neighborhoods".
That's true, sf7307; I should have been more clear. We got off at one of the two Bart stops and walked through the Mission district and ate before we went over to the actual church.
Anyone wanting more of a "neighborhood" SF experience while still being located in a restaurant-rich locale should consider the Marina District. We stay on Lombard Street in the Chelsea Motor Inn or one of its sister properties. Along Union Street, Fillmore Street (especially over the hill), Steiner Street, Scott Street, and Chestnut Street there are enough restaurants and shops to occupy you for a few weeks or more. And there is easy bus access to all points downtown, including Chinatown, North Beach, and the Embarcadero.
Thanks for the blog, great pictures!
What would be the best place to catch some views in SF? I mean a nice hill (for walking), not a tower
Love the pictures--you've captured some of the reasons why I'm moving there next year, returning to the West Coast after a 40-year on the East Coast. My son lives on Dolores (in the "Mistro") right near the mission and the park. Great neighborhood.
Mmmm, Delfina's pizza. Some of the best I've had outside of southern Italy. Your pictures made me want to bite the screen. Thanks for posting!
My perfect meal is the tricolor salad, margarita pizza and roasted cauliflower at Delfina Pizza!
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Is Day 3 forthcoming?
Perhaps I missed it, but where did you stay?
Thanks a lot for your comments and likes

@yk - it was at th Castle Inn on Nobb Hill. Just ok. Nothing great to write home about.
@easytraveler - no..not planning on a Day 3. I might have one last post on Blue Bottle. Loved their coffee and commitment to good coffee
@aprillilacs - thanks a lot..
@Anskis - I would say Twin Peaks.
