9-month-old to Germany for 2 wks

Help, my brother and sister in law are traveling to Germany for two weeks in October for a business trip. They are taking their 9 month old with them. I am looking for suggestions on a gift I can get them before they go that will hopefully make the trip easier or more enjoyable. Anybody out there have any suggestions?

You might want to post this under the European forum as well since they may be able to advise you with items that parents may need that aren't readily available over there.

A very nice light weight stroller with swivel wheels and a canopy on it. Combi and Peg Perego make some really nice ones. Also one of those baby slings are nice for places that don't allow strollers.

I agree with the previous poster, though. The European board will give you much more helpful advice about traveling with a baby in Europe.

One of the best things you or anyone else can give them is a separate seat on the plane for the baby. At his age, he is permitted to travel on a parent's lap, but for a Transatlantic flight, it could be pretty uncomfortable. Just ask someone who has done it!

A nine-month old is way too heavy for a baby sling. What they might use is a backpack-style seat for the baby. Versatile toys that don't have small parts are always welcome.
