85 cents for a gallon of gas...

Yep, that's right, that's what we paid last night at Costco in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

Chicagoan - Where do you buy your gas? I live in what I guess is called East Lakeview and passed 2 gas station in my four block walk to the el this morning, both had the same price $1.41/gal. This was the cheapest I had seen it in ages. It is even more than that downtown.

I try to keep in mind that about 10 cents from every gallon finds its way back to the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.), and adjust my driving habits accordingly.

in pittsburgh's north suburbs, it's running around $1.05 a gallon. I paid 94 cents last week in Georgia; bypassed $1.45 in New Jersey, on the way back from NYC earlier this week, then paid $1.15 as soon as I crossed the PA line. Wonder where all that state tax revenue goes . . .

Thanks to all the environmental crap, state and federal taxes, despite the biggest oil glut in years, the cheapest gas to be found in Sacramento is $1.37.9.

Just went down to 89 cents in Westampton, NJ. Travel tip: If you have to stop to fill up in NJ you're going to get ripped off on the Turnpike or Route 1. South/Central Jersey is about $1.05 in general right now.

I watch gas prices everyday, this weekend prices were at around 1.09, Monday evening I saw one station at .99, I drove down the street & an Amoco had raised theirs to 1.25 from 1.09?
Yesterday, the same .99 station went up to 1.19. So if you are lucky enough to need gas within a twelve hour period, I guess you can get gas for .99. I live 60 miles west of Chicago.

Wonder if any of the posters above were the same ones moaning about how the gas companies were gouging them a few months ago when prices were high.

Now that prices have fallen, are you still complaining about the oil companies?
