8 "Surf Divas" coming to La Jolla, ideas for dining/nightlife

I am planning a bachlorette party weekend October 8-10 for 8 women. Saturday, we are taking private lessons at the Surf Diva school. We are mid 30's, coming in from NYC, Chicago, San Francisco and LA.

I have hotel reservations at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, which looks spectacular. Is it worth staying there even though we need transportation every time we want to go into La Jolla?

Dinner questions. Georges looks like a must. Do people dress up to go to the upstairs Bistro? I know we would need to go early for sunset, perhaps drinks upstairs and dinner in the main dining room? Other suggestions appreciated...price not a major issue, good food, great atmosphere-good scene, and a view or outdoor terrace would be nice (but not necessary since we may go late).

Where to go after dinner? Any good live music in the area. Perhaps need to go into San Diego?
