7 days on Cape Cod, what to do?

Going to Cape from 7/23-7/30 looking for things to do with the family, I have 3 sons ages 14, 11, and 10. We are going to Boston on the 28th for a Red Sox game, and are going golfing one day, any ideas for the other 5 days???

Where on the cape are you staying? Of course, you can always go swimming, sunbathing, walks along the beaches. I highly recommend the National Seashore beaches; they are beautiful & the prettiest on the Cape. there is Coast Guard Beach, Nauset Beach, Head of the Meadow, Race Point & Herring Cove Beach to name a few. Skaket Beach in Orleans, on the bayside, is scenic, warm & you can walk far out during lowtide.

You can also go on hikes, rent bikes, play mini-golf. There is tons to do on the Cape. You can shop in Provincetown, Chatham & Hyannis. Wellfleet is a very pretty town, artsy & quieter than P'town, for instance.

In addition to what's mentioned above, you could go on a Whale Watch, check with the National Seashore Headquarters and see what they are offering, visit the Audubon Sanctuary in Wellfleet, or go kayaking in Orleans.

Go up to Scargo Tower for a good view. Swim in a kettle pond. Hire a fishing boat and go out striper fishing.

Also since you like baseball, try to catch a Cape Cod league game.

I second the idea of the Cape Cod League baseball games. Check on line for schedules of the teams near where you are staying.

Activities at the Cape Cod National Seashore include ranger guided walks and many interesting programs. There are many trails for walking and bicycling. http://www.nps.gov/caco/upload/JulyAugustweb2.pdf

You can rent bicycles and ride along the Cape Cod Rail Trail.

You can go for a whale watch out of Provincetown or Barnstable.

Programs at the Wellfleet Bay Audubon Sanctuary http://www.massaudubon.org/PDF/newsl...et_Bay_170.pdf

Programs at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History http://www.ccmnh.org/index.php?module=PostCalendar

Swimming in the ocean between Chatham and Provincetown for cold water and high surf. Swimming in Cape Cod Bay between Dennis and Eastham at high tide and walking along the beautiful tidal flats at low tide. Swimming in fresh water ponds. Check the tourist information for the town in which you will be staying for local beaches and parking sticker requirements.

Go for a seal cruise out of Harwichport or Chatham.

How did it work out at the Cape? Post your questions now, while they are fresh in your mind: all the better for planning for next year!
